Overview
Bartenders provide excellent service to bar guests. They set-up the bar area, prepare and mix beverages, serve customers, and maintain the cleanliness of the bar area.
Job Duties
- Checks identification of guests to verify age requirements for the purchase of alcohol (Essential)
- Prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as ordered, in a timely manner and in compliance with company standards (Essential)
- Operates cash register and receives payment from customer in cash or credit card, and accurately counts and provides change to customers when applicable (Essential)
- Monitors the intake of alcohol of guests, prohibiting the sale to those who are intoxicated. Orders taxis or other means of transportation for intoxicated patrons (Essential)
- Operates in compliance with federal, state and local law requirements for serving alcohol (Essential)
- Greets customers and takes beverage orders for guests from restaurant servers
- Performs shift opening and closing duties as directed by the Restaurant Manager
- Presents menus, takes orders and serves food to guests seated at the bar
- Cleans, sanitizes and maintains bar area including counters and equipment
- Prepares garnishes, stocks, and replenishes beverages and garnishment supply as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- 6 months in previous bartending experience (Required)
- Professional appearance
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use email and internet
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Preferred Certifications/Licensures:(TIPS Certification)
