ABOUT THE ROLE

The Accounting Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the accounting team by directing, supervising, and enhancing the skills of the accounting staff. They will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards and a smooth month-end and year-end closing process. 

 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises the department to ensure accounting objectives are accomplished by selecting, onboarding, assigning, managing, and mentoring employees.
  • Lead general accounting functions while actively leveraging AI-driven tools to automate manual workflows, reduce cycle times and enhance data accuracy across the department. 
  • Forward thinking with ability to bridge traditional GAAP compliance with modern technology. Utilize AI platforms to transform raw data into actionable business intelligence and meaningful analytics. 
  • Contributes to strategic goals, resolves problems, and implements improvements.
  • Monitors monthly expenditures, identifying variances, and executing corrective actions.
  • Maintains cash flow by monitoring bank balances and cash requirements.
  • Approves weekly cash disbursements. 
  • Reviews and approves all general ledger entries & all balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Ensures adherence to internal controls companywide including ERP permissions.
  • Provides robust gross margin and costing analysis by researching and analyzing accounting data and reports.
  • Summarizes current financials by reviewing balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements, and other reports.
  • Substantiate financial transactions by reviewing documents.
  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Answers accounting procedure and general accounting questions by researching and interpreting policy.
  • Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and analyzing trends.
  • All other duties requested. 

 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting and knowledge of GAAP.
  • CPA or progress towards a CPA is preferred. 
  • Significant job cost analysis in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Natural tendency towards continuous improvement of processes through automation.
  • Direct experience with AI driven platforms
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting with at least 3 years in a supervisory role. 
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and in a large fully integrated ERP system, preferably Syteline. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently with strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
