We are seeking a motivated Researcher to help evolve Campbell’s options trading program. This role is designed for a quantitative thinker who enjoys translating models into programmatic trading strategies. Working with the options research team, you can make a direct impact on the firm's portfolio in an atmosphere that prizes intellectual curiosity and creative problem-solving. We believe in the value of in-person collaboration; as such, this role provides proximity and access to research leadership in an environment that fosters mentorship and rapid technical growth.


Principal Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Development: Develop new systematic options strategies and risk management methods.
  • Quantitative Modeling: Apply mathematical frameworks to options and derivative pricing.
  • Coding: Develop trading signals from theoretical and empirical research.
  • Portfolio Oversight: Monitor production portfolios and suggest solutions to production issues.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Director, Options Research. Contribute to the research department through seminars, papers, and presentations.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of academic research and market developments in volatility trading.


Required Qualifications

  • BS degree in a quantitative discipline (Finance, Physics, Math, or related) and 2+ years of experience
  • Solid understanding of financial markets and investment concepts
  • Strong foundational knowledge of options pricing, Greeks, and derivative mathematics
  • Proficiency in a computational programming language such as Python or MATLAB.
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas and results in both written and verbal form
  • Self-motivated, well-organized, intellectually curious, and possessing an acute attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and contribute to team’s deliverables
  • Ability to operate with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment


Preferred Qualifications

  • MS degree or PhD in a quantitative discipline
  • Experience at a hedge fund, proprietary trading firm, or investment bank
  • Expertise in options

We offer a competitive base salary range for this role of $100,000 to $180,000 per annum, which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. The base salary is contingent on experience and qualifications, with the minimum suitable for candidates under two years of experience and the maximum reserved for those possessing an advanced degree and relevant work experience. Position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
