Job Overview:
The CAD Engineer is responsible for supporting product design & development, and production improvement. A portion of the responsibilities will include improving the product design and tooling creation process through automation, training, and continuous improvement methods. The CAD Engineer is also responsible for creating 2 dimensional drawings packages for production and ordering the corresponding tooling and fixture.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support product design, product development, and production improvement.
- Create AutoCAD templates and commands using AutoLisp.
- Streamline the CAD process by leading continuous improvement projects.
- Creation of production drawings and initial support of tooling purchases.
- Artwork file generation for assembly tooling, laser drill pattern, and lithography mask design.
- Write and update procedures, project plans, and other documentation as required.
- Generate process routers using ORACLE
- Generate inspection specifications using UniPoint.
- Mentor team on AutoCAD functions and drafting skills.
- Assist with training of new team members.
- Provide manufacturing support, as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 4-year degree in engineering, science, technology + a minimum 1 years of applicable hands on experience (Drafting, Machine Shops, Commercial 3D Printing, etc.)
- Product design and manufacturing experience is preferred
- Ability to analyze and interpret engineering drawings & specifications
- Effective time management skills
- Accountability to the timelines of task completion
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Exceptional multi-tasking skills
- Knowledge of polyline, hatch, boundary, block, insert, dimension, offset, viewport, scale, stretch, and trim commands in AutoCAD
- Understanding of viewports, workspaces, layer manager, and drawing properties in AutoCAD.
- Working understanding of Finite Element Analysis.
- Programming, Autodesk, CNC, and BobCAD software experience preferred.
