Purpose:
The Assembler Support II is responsible for performing mechanical assembly of satellite modem chassis, including installation of PCBAs, hardware, cabling, and related components. This role requires solid technical skills, attention to detail, and consistent adherence to quality and safety standards. The Assembler Support II supports daily production activities, communicates build issues or material concerns to planning, quality, or engineering, and helps ensure assemblies meet reliability, performance, and customer specifications.
Responsibilities:
• Perform mechanical assembly tasks including hardware installation, component alignment, and verification of basic mechanical fit and function.Â
• Perform mechanical and functional tests such as torque checks, basic pressure tests, or other verification steps as required.Â
• Interpret and follow mechanical drawings, assembly instructions, schematics, ECOs, BOMs, and quality documentation.Â
• Identify and communicate mechanical assembly issues or potential defects to quality or engineering for evaluation.Â
• Verify material accuracy, identify shortages, and notify planning or leadership to prevent delays in production.Â
• Work closely with quality and engineering teams by providing feedback on build concerns and supporting troubleshooting activities.Â
• Support cross‑training efforts across multiple product lines to increase flexibility and production coverage.Â
• Assist with daily workflow by completing assigned tasks efficiently and maintaining readiness for upcoming builds.Â
• Perform in‑process inspections to verify hardware installation, assembly quality, torque accuracy, and proper handling of sensitive components.Â
• Maintain accurate documentation in ERP systems, including build steps, defect entries, part usage, and process notes.Â
• Keep work area organized, safe, and compliant with 5S, ESD, safety, and cleanliness standards.Â
• Partner with production and repair teams to support resolution of assembly‑related defects.Â
• Provide constructive feedback regarding work instructions or assembly processes that may improve efficiency or clarity.Â
• Assist with new product introductions, pilot builds, and engineering trials under guidance from senior assemblers or engineering.
Skills:
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.Â
• Ability to manage time effectively and follow task priorities.Â
• Mechanical assembly experience with attention to detail and quality.Â
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and BOMs.Â
• Proficiency using torque tools, calipers, measurement gauges, and basic mechanical equipment.Â
• Experience working with PCBAs and sensitive electronic assemblies.Â
• Familiarity with mechanical testing methods and associated safety requirements.Â
• Knowledge of ESD, safety, and applicable manufacturing standards.Â
• Basic understanding of electrical connections, grounding, and cable routing.Â
• Ability to identify and communicate mechanical or simple electrical assembly issues.Â
• ERP system experience for documenting build progress and part usage.
Requirements:
• Previous mechanical assembly experience in an electronics or manufacturing environment.Â
• Proficiency using hand tools, torque tools, and measurement instruments.Â
• Experience assembling products containing PCBAs or electronic components.Â
• Knowledge of ESD, safety, and manufacturing quality standards.Â
• Ability to read and understand technical documentation (drawings, schematics, work instructions).Â
• Exposure to mechanical or pressure‑related testing processes.Â
• Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to identify and communicate issues.Â
• Experience with ERP or digital documentation systems.
Education and/or Experience: 
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in electronics or a related field preferred. 
- Minimum of 2 years of experience assembling complex electromechanical products, including installation of PCBAs, cabling, ECUs, and mechanical hardware.

The pay range reflects the expected base salary for this position. Final compensation will be based on role, level, skills, experience, and geographic location.Â
