Your Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Structural Designer to join the Energy and Resources Design team. The successful candidate would have opportunities to work on a variety of projects within the Energy and Resource sector ranging from studies to detailed engineering and construction support for projects in North America and across the world. With a particular focus on underground and surface mining, material handling, and industrial facilities. This role would provide an opportunity to be part of a diverse team while focusing on technical growth.
This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment. Â Work performed will be under the supervision of a Senior Designer or Engineer, working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions across the globe.

Your Key Responsibilities
- You are expected to understand and work according to the requirements of the Stantec Safety Culture and in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations for Stantec and its clients.
- Perform modeling, drafting and structural design tasks for a wide variety of projects.
- Complete project deliverables on budget and schedule.
- Work collaboratively with engineers, designers, and project teams to produce quality design deliverables with the appropriate level of detail.
- Support projects involving underground and surface mining infrastructure, shaft and headframe design, material handling, and other heavy industrial facilities.Â
- Work with Engineers and Junior Designers on fit-for-purpose designs that meet the client’s needs and requests.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to designers as part of their professional development, while taking an active role in your own career development.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects within Stantec's quality control guidelines.
- Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members.
- Travel to local project sites as needed.
