  • Candidates should possess strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, ideally with a background in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • The position offers a competitive salary, although the specific amount is not disclosed in the job description.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to government contract stipulations.

About the Role

PacSci EMC is seeking a Test Engineer to own the planning, coordination, execution readiness, and documentation of assigned test programs in our Chandler, Arizona operation. This role is primarily focused on end-to-end test program ownership rather than hands-on test execution. You will work closely with technicians, Design Engineering, Program Management, customers, vendors, and outside test laboratories to ensure testing is properly planned, documented, scheduled, executed, and reviewed.

The ideal candidate is a mechanically minded engineer with 2–5 years of experience who brings strong organization, communication, data-analysis, and problem-solving skills and is ready to grow into increasing technical and program ownership. PacSci-specific systems and several specialized processes will be learned through onboarding and on-the-job training.

What You’ll Do

  • Own assigned test programs from planning through completion, coordinating schedules, procedures, resources, test readiness, execution support, data review, documentation, and follow-up actions.

  • Develop, maintain, and support Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs), with exposure to Qualification Test Plans (QTPs) and Qualification Test Reports (QTRs) as applicable.

  • Coordinate with test technicians to ensure procedures, equipment, instrumentation, materials, and resources are ready for scheduled testing.

  • Work cross-functionally with Design Engineering, Program Management, Quality, Manufacturing, customers, and other stakeholders to resolve test-related issues and maintain program schedules.

  • Coordinate testing with external laboratories and vendors, including obtaining quotes, supporting Statements of Work (SOWs), requisitions and work orders, and participating in vendor/customer meetings as needed.

  • Analyze test and process data, identify trends or anomalies, communicate findings, and support troubleshooting and corrective actions.

  • Support development, procurement, installation, verification, and calibration readiness of test equipment and instrumentation.

  • Develop working knowledge of test-program cost management, including SPI/CPI concepts, quoting, labor estimates, and related program controls.

  • Learn and utilize PacSci EMC internal systems and tools, including Visual, to support test documentation and Engineering Masters for test cards.

  • Participate in Process Safety Management (PSM), 5S, Continuous Improvement, and LEAN activities as applicable.

  • Support capital-equipment and facility-improvement initiatives associated with test capabilities as experience and business needs develop.

  • Support proposal and estimating activities with test-related labor, equipment, schedule, and external-laboratory inputs.

  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and communicate status, risks, priorities, and issues effectively.

  • Progressively operate with greater independence as knowledge of PacSci products, systems, processes, and test disciplines develops.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Mechanical Engineering or another mechanically oriented discipline is preferred. Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, and other relevant engineering disciplines may also be considered.

  • 2–5 years of relevant engineering experience; test engineering, manufacturing, aerospace/defense, or another structured technical test environment is preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to organize and coordinate technical work, manage competing priorities, and drive assigned activities to completion.

  • Experience analyzing technical, engineering, manufacturing, or test data and communicating conclusions clearly.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technicians, engineers, program teams, customers, and vendors.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, accountability, learning agility, and willingness to take ownership while asking for support when needed.

  • Ability to work primarily on-site in Chandler, Arizona and support a Monday–Friday schedule, with occasional extended hours or limited weekend support based on test and customer needs.

  • Ability to travel less than 5%, primarily to local external test laboratories.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing or maintaining ATPs, test procedures, QTPs, QTRs, or similar controlled test documentation.

  • Aerospace, defense, energetic-materials, automotive safety systems, or other highly regulated manufacturing/test experience.

  • Experience coordinating external test laboratories, suppliers, customers, or technical vendors.

  • Familiarity with Process Safety Management (PSM), LEAN, Continuous Improvement, or 5S.

  • Experience with SolidWorks or another 3D CAD platform.

  • Exposure to Microsoft Project, Visio, Access, or similar project/documentation tools.

  • Exposure to program cost, schedule, quoting, SPI/CPI, or earned-value concepts.

What Success Looks Like

During the first several months, you will build knowledge of PacSci EMC products, test methods, systems, and site-specific processes while assuming increasing ownership of assigned programs. Successful engineers in this role become trusted points of contact for their programs, keep testing and documentation moving, communicate risks early, work effectively across functions, and develop deeper expertise in test disciplines such as dynamics, thermal, environmental, or functional testing.

Why PacSci EMC

  • Join a growing business where engineers gain broad exposure across design, testing, production, failure review, customer interaction, and product delivery.

  • Build meaningful test-program and project-management experience while developing deeper technical expertise.

  • Work within a collaborative Test Engineering team that values communication, accountability, learning, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Export Control Requirement

Due to U.S. Government contract requirements applicable to this position, only U.S. citizens are eligible for employment in this role.
