Job DescriptionÂ
We are seeking an Associate Engineer for our Nashville, TN office. In this role, you will be a key member of our accident reconstruction team, providing expert consulting services to clients within the legal, insurance, and transportation industries. We are committed to ensuring that our clients have all the necessary details to accurately understand and resolve high-stakes vehicle accidents.Â
This role offers a blend of fieldwork and in-office analysis. Fieldwork involves the use of advanced technologies, such as 3D laser scanning, drones, and camera equipment, to accurately document accident sites and vehicles, preserving key details before they can be impacted by environmental changes. In the office, you will analyze factors such as vehicle speed, damage, impact forces, driver reaction times, and available video footage. Additionally, we employ advanced software tools to create precise accident reconstructions, providing a visual representation of the events.Â

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesÂ
Field Investigation & Evidence CollectionÂ
• Perform on-site inspections, vehicle assessments, and rapid-response investigationsÂ
• Capture and document physical evidence using advanced tools, including 3D laser scanning, drones, and digital photographyÂ
• Preserve scene and vehicle conditions through accurate documentation prior to environmental or external changesÂ
• Engineering Analysis & Technical SupportÂ
• Apply engineering principles to analyze vehicle motion, damage patterns, impact forces, and driver responseÂ
• Utilize specialized software tools, including CAD, photogrammetry, collision simulation, laser scanning platforms, and vehicle event data recorder (EDR) analysisÂ
• Support planning and execution of engineering analyses under the guidance of senior engineersÂ
• Documentation & ReportingÂ
• Prepare clear, technically accurate written materials in support of engineering reportsÂ
• Assist with the development of visual exhibits and reconstruction modelsÂ
• Present technical findings to internal team members and, as appropriate, external audiences with varying levels of technical expertiseÂ
Project & Team SupportÂ
• Support multiple projects with competing deadlines while maintaining quality and accuracyÂ
• Collaborate effectively with engineers, client engagement staff, and operations partnersÂ
• Demonstrate professionalism and accountability in all client-facing and internal interactionsÂ
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)Â
KnowledgeÂ
• Engineering fundamentals relevant to motor vehicle crash analysisÂ
• Vehicle dynamics, automotive systems, and mechanical principlesÂ
• Interest in or exposure to advanced driver-assist systems, autonomous vehicle technologies, and vehicle data networksÂ

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsÂ
• Technical writing and documentation skillsÂ
• Ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiencesÂ
• Proficiency or demonstrated aptitude in 3D modeling and engineering software toolsÂ

• Ability to manage regional travel requirements (approximately 50%)Â

QualificationsÂ
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline requiredÂ
• Master’s degree candidates preferredÂ
• Academic or applied experience in technical research, analysis, or engineering projects preferredÂ
Work Environment & Travel RequirementsÂ
• Combination of office-based analysis and field investigation workÂ
• Approximately 50% regional travel requiredÂ
• Fieldwork may involve outdoor environments and varied site conditionsÂ

CompensationÂ
The base salary for this position ranges from $70,000 to $75,000, depending on prior experience and expertise, which will be evaluated during the interview process.Â
