Throughout the internship program, you will complete important and meaningful work and project assignments with a focus on providing you opportunities for growth, visibility, and exposure within the organization. You will be paired with a Mentor who will be your guide for the projects and work assignments.

 

About the Role

 

Social Media – 50%

  • Actively and consistently seek opportunities to perform social listening, identify emerging trends, and engage with community members across social channels.

  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) across social media channels and Employee Advocacy and provide recommendations to improve social media reach and cross-functional campaign efforts.

  • Curate content for Employee Advocacy and write copy for company-wide usage.

  • Partner with Mentor to research, develop, and create content and write copy for social channels that is on-trend and aligns with business goals and objectives.

 

Content Marketing – 50 %

  • Draft and edit blog posts, email newsletters, landing pages and other short form copy that aligns with the Discovery Education’s branding and voice.

  • Collaborate with corporate team to generate innovative ideas for content that engages our target audience and stands out in the market.

  • Provide data-driven recommendations for content revisions and work cross functionally with design and campaign team to update collateral and programs.

Requirements 

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

  • Experience with social media tools and best practices.

  • Highly flexible and comfortable with ambiguity.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Basic math proficiency.

  • Strong writing and editing skills- must be able to produce clear, compelling, and grammatically correct content.

  • Skilled at conducting research and translating findings into engaging content ideas.

  • Legal right to work in the United States.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Passion for all things education and pop culture.

  • Basic graphic design, video editing, and html.

  • Strong creativity and storytelling abilities.

  • A keen understanding of each social media network.

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.

  • Solutions-oriented mindset and ability to problem solve in real-time.
