Key Responsibilities
Sports Science and Performance
- Lead sport science projects and initiatives within the Sports Performance team.
- Manage performance monitoring and testing programs, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Conduct athlete screenings to evaluate physical performance, identify injury risk factors, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain consistency, validity, and reliability of physical performance data collected across staff and programs.
- Analyze and interpret performance data, including load monitoring and physiological/subjective responses.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols during all testing, screening, and monitoring sessions.
- Manage the ethical, legal, and secure handling of athlete and team performance data.
Coaching & Athlete Development
- Act as lead coach at Waverly facility instructing youth athletes in a range of training techniques, including speed, strength, agility, and coordination development.
- Focus on injury prevention techniques and strategies to enhance athletic performance.
- Partner with Physical Therapists for integrated return-to-sport protocols for athletes recovering from injuries.
- Motivate and encourage athletes, fostering a positive and supportive training environment.
- Organize and lead group clinics focused on various aspects of athletic development.
Community Engagement & Education
- Build and maintain relationships with local teams, schools, and organizations to expand athlete screening initiatives.
- Provide education on injury prevention, athletic development, and performance strategies to athletes, coaches, and parents.
- Facilitate data integration and share actionable feedback with teams to inform training and injury prevention strategies.

- Commitment to Growth: Dedicated to staying current with sport science research, technology, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Sport Science, or related field
- 3–5 years of relevant experience with sport teams and/or athlete populations, including internships or apprenticeships. Basketball experience is a plus.
- Experience in sport performance settings, strength & conditioning, or applied research environments (e.g., university labs).
- NSCA-CPSS preferred – NSCA CSCS or similar certification requiredÂ
- Experience with sport science technology (e.g., GPS, heart rate monitors, force plates, EMG, etc.) and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel)
- Experience with VALD Performance preferred
- Knowledge of performance principles and integration across strength & conditioning, sports medicine, nutrition, and mental performance.
