For over 45 years, we have helped clients protect the performance, reliability, and compliance of their most demanding facilities through specialized technical services, workforce solutions, installation services, and operational expertise.  The Payroll & Benefits Operations Specialist is a payroll operations, benefits, systems, and data-validation role responsible for helping ensure employees are paid accurately, consistently, and on time. This role supports payroll and benefits administration while also validating data across systems, troubleshooting discrepancies, and helping improve payroll-related workflows as Promera continues to grow and change.  This is not a routine payroll processing role. Promera is actively evolving its payroll, HRIS, ERP, timekeeping, and operations workflows. This role requires someone who can process payroll accurately while also validating data, troubleshooting errors, adapting to process changes, and helping build documentation as systems and policies change.   What You'll Work On  Support weekly and/or biweekly payroll processing in Paycom, including hours, deductions, bonuses, prevailing wage supplements, allowances, reimbursements, and other earning or deduction codes.  Validate payroll and time data across Paycom, Assignar, Acumatica, and related reporting tools to identify discrepancies before payroll is finalized.  Research and resolve payroll exceptions, missing data, duplicate amounts, incorrect earning codes, and other issues that may impact pay accuracy.  Support payroll-related system and process changes, including new earning codes, data sets, import files, integrations, and workflow updates.  Partner with Finance, Operations, IT, systems SMEs, and field leaders to understand source data issues, escalation paths, and payroll-related impacts.  Respond to employee and manager payroll questions with timely, accurate, and professional support.  Support day-to-day benefits administration, including enrollments, terminations, qualifying life events, open enrollment changes, benefits questions, eligibility reviews, and documentation management.  Reconcile benefits deductions between payroll, carrier invoices, and enrollment reports, documenting variances and follow-up actions.  Maintain accurate payroll, benefits, and employee records in Paycom and related systems.  Assist with payroll audits, benefits audits, reporting, reconciliations, and ad hoc data requests.  Create and maintain checklists, process notes, and workflow documentation as tools, policies, and procedures change.  Identify recurring issues and recommend practical improvements to improve payroll accuracy, employee support, and process consistency.  Handle sensitive employee, payroll, benefits, and personnel information with confidentiality and professionalism.  What Success Looks Like in the First 12 Months  Payroll is processed accurately and on time, with strong attention to detail and clear escalation of issues before deadlines are at risk.  Payroll, timekeeping, allowance, reimbursement, and benefits data are validated consistently across systems before downstream errors occur.  The Specialist is viewed as a reliable point of contact for routine payroll and benefits questions by employees, managers, Finance, Operations, and systems partners.  Recurring payroll, benefits, and data issues are documented, tracked, and used to improve checklists, training, and process consistency.  Benefits deduction reconciliations are completed by deadline with documented variances and follow-up actions.  System or process changes are handled with urgency, accuracy, and practical communication to the right stakeholders.  The role contributes to stronger payroll operations by helping create structure in areas where documentation or process ownership is still developing.  Qualifications 3+ years of payroll, payroll operations, benefits administration, HRIS, accounting operations, or related data-processing experience.  Experience working with payroll, HRIS, ERP, timekeeping, accounting, or workforce management systems.  Strong Excel skills, including filtering, sorting, lookups, data comparison, reconciliation, and error identification.  Demonstrated ability to validate data across multiple sources and identify discrepancies before they create downstream issues.  Comfortable working in a fast-changing environment where processes, systems, codes, and policies may change with short notice.  Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate issues independently before escalating.  Ability to manage deadline-driven work, especially during payroll processing days.  Strong written and verbal communication skills with employees, managers, Finance, Operations, IT, and system SMEs.  High attention to detail and accuracy, especially with employee pay, deductions, allowances, reimbursements, and sensitive HR data.  Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.  Customer-service mindset with the ability to support both hourly and salaried employees calmly and respectfully.  Preferred Qualifications  Experience with Paycom or another enterprise payroll/HRIS system.  Multi-state payroll experience.  Experience supporting field, hourly, operational, construction, service, logistics, manufacturing, facilities, or distributed workforce environments.  Experience setting up or testing earning codes, deduction codes, payroll imports, data sets, or payroll-related system changes.  Experience creating or improving payroll, benefits, HR, or accounting process documentation.  Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience.    Benefits   Competitive pay, based on experience and location  Growth
