Where You Will Work:

The Pediatric and Adolescent Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit at Atrium Health Behavioral Health Charlotte is a secure, acute care psychiatric unit providing 24/7 stabilization and treatment for patients experiencing serious mental health conditions. This unit serves patients typically ages 5–17 who require a higher level of care due to safety concerns such as suicidal ideation, self-harm behaviors, psychosis, severe mood disorders, or behavioral dysregulation.


We’re Looking For: 

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current RN licensure in the appropriate state
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience (preferred)
  • Previous management experience (preferred)
  • Behavioral Health Pediatric Experience and Supervisor Experience.
  • BSN required
    • Candidates hired or promoted without a BSN must:
      • Enroll in a BSN program within 1 year of hire/transfer
      • Complete the BSN program within 3 years of enrollment
  • BLS certification required per policy guidelines
  • Professional certification (clinical or leadership) required within 1 year of eligibility for the certification exam
  • Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required by the department's nurse leader

What You’ll Do:

As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.

Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
