Night Auditor - NGHTAUDT 

Department: Front Office  

Reports To: Front Office Manager

Job Overview 

As a Night Auditor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel during the overnight hours. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including financial reconciliation, guest services, and system maintenance. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Financial Reconciliation:  
  • Balance daily revenue and expenses. 
  • Reconcile guest accounts and credit card charges. 
  • Prepare and analyze daily reports. 
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. 

 

  • Guest Services:  
  • Check in and check out guests. 
  • Assist guests with inquiries and requests. 
  • Resolve guest complaints and issues in a timely and professional manner. 
  • Provide excellent customer service. 

 

  • System Maintenance:  
  • Update and maintain hotel systems and software. 
  • Troubleshoot system issues and errors. 
  • Back up and secure important data. 

 

  • Security:  
  • Monitor security cameras and alarms. 
  • Conduct regular property inspections. 
  • Respond to security incidents as needed. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality setting, preferably as a front desk agent or night auditor. 
  • Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting practices. 
  • Proficiency in hotel property management systems (PMS). 
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

Education
- High school diploma or GED

Skills and Experience (Essential)
- At least 18 years of age
- Basic computer skills
- Must be able to read, communicate effectively and have superb interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work well under pressure while retaining tact and composure when resolving guest complaints

Skills and Experience (Preferred)
- Work experience in the hospitality or restaurant industry
- Experience with programs such as Vision One, Galaxy, Lightspeed or RTP
- Communication in other languages is helpful
