Title: External Affairs Manager

The External Affairs Manager will lead the company’s marketing and communications efforts. The position will report directly to the Director of Strategy, Policy, & External Affairs.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Manage company-wide communications efforts, including: press releases and media relations, post-development public relations and events, company/project websites, and social media engagement
  • Build and maintain credible, consistent, and comprehensive marketing collateral across multiple business lines (i.e. project development, business development, etc.)
  • Working with business development and project development, manage the development and implementation of marketing and communications efforts aimed at the company’s priority audiences, inclusive of managing the development of audience specific messaging and how best to deliver those messages (tactics and/or channels)
  • Create and maintain brand assets, such as logos, style guides, and presentation templates
  • Serve as liaison with parent company regarding marketing and communications
  • Manage 3rd party vendor work scope and deliverables, as applicable
  • Special projects as assigned

 

Skills:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage a diverse workload
  • Strong organizational and task management skills
  • Ability to effectively engage with all team members, as well as with outside parties
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, Outlook, etc.)
  • Experience in marketing and communications efforts
  • Experience using WordPress and Canva or other similar marketing tools is a plus
  • Experience using a CRM platform like Salesforce.com, a plus
  • Acting Notary Public, a plus

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience preferred
  • 4-year university degree, BS or BA or equivalent, relevant professional experience
  • Valid driver’s license

 

Travel & Time Commitment:

  • Limited travel related to company retreats, possibly industry conferences and deliveries
  • This is a full-time, exempt salaried position. Standard office hours are from 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM EST. The demands of projects may require work outside of these times.

 

Compensation & Benefits: 

  • Compensation for this role includes a base salary range of $106,000 to $128,000 annually, plus eligibility for an annual bonus. Salary will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, and internal equity 
  • Comprehensive benefit package includes health, dental, & vision insurance; short-term & long-term disability coverage; life insurance; 401(k) & employer match; parental leave; paid time off, sick leave, and holidays; access to an EAP; and education, parking, and gym membership stipends 

 

Location:

East Point Energy office in Charlottesville, VA

(Remote/Hybrid work is possible, but a strong preference will be given to those who can work on-site)
