Milliken's Highland Textiles Plant, located in Cheraw, SC, has an immediate need to hire for a dependable and safety-minded “Cloth Doffer”,to work with our third shift Weaving team. Our manufacturing facility produces industrial fabrics, used in a variety of applications in various specialty markets. The Cloth Doffer plays an important role in keeping our weaving operation running safely and efficiently. The current work hours for this position are 12:00am to 8:00am. The current schedule is five (5) days per week on average. Overtime may be required, based on customer and production needs. We are customer order driven and hours/number of days per week can change. Shift changes for open positions after hire are made by seniority.

 

What You Will Do:

As a Cloth Doffer, you will:

  • Follow all Plant Safety and Work Rules; Work safely, wear required PPE, and attend required safety training.
  • Remove fully completed rolls of fabric from weaving equipment.
  • Prepare equipment for the next production cycle.
  • Properly identify, label, handle, and stage finished fabric rolls.
  • Monitor production and communicate equipment or process concerns.
  • Inspect fabric for visible quality issues and report defects.
  • Work closely with Weavers, Supervisors, Quality, Maintenance, and Loom Technicians to remove full rolls of fabric from industrial sewing machines, called Weaving Looms, and relocate them to the next part of the manufacturing  process.
  • Responsible for good housekeeping. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Complete required production and quality documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Available to work third shift and overtime when required

Previous textile or manufacturing experience is preferred, but we are willing to train candidates who demonstrate the right attitude, reliability, work ethic, and willingness to learn.

 

Physical & Work Environment

This is an active manufacturing position requiring standing and walking for extended periods, bending, reaching, stooping, pushing, pulling, and repetitive hand movements. The work environment may include elevated noise, textile fibers/dust, heat, vibration, and moving industrial equipment. Required PPE must be worn.
