Job Description:

  • Material Receiving and Inspection
    • Receive incoming materials, equipment, and supplies in accordance with established procedures.
    • Inspect incoming goods for damage, completeness, and accuracy.
    • Verify items against shipping documents, purchase orders, and records of shipment on file.
    • Identify and report discrepancies, shortages, or damage to appropriate personnel.
  • Storage, Handling, and Inventory Management
    • Store materials in designated locations within the warehouse or storage facility, ensuring proper identification, labeling, and segregation.
    • Maintain orderly, safe, and efficient storage practices (e.g., FIFO, lot control, environmental or safety requirements).
    • Assist with cycle counts and physical inventories to support inventory accuracy.
    • Update inventory records and documentation in the applicable warehouse management or tracking systems.
  • Order Picking, Packing, and Shipping
    • Gather and confirm items for shipment based on picking lists, work orders, or other specifications.
    • Pack, secure, and label materials for shipment in accordance with carrier, customer, and regulatory requirements.
    • Prepare shipping documentation, bills of lading, and other required paperwork.
    • Coordinate outgoing shipments with carriers or internal transportation teams, ensuring timely and accurate dispatch.
  • Documentation and Recordkeeping
    • Record received and shipped items in the appropriate systems, logs, or databases.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records to support audit readiness and traceability.
    • Ensure documentation complies with internal policies, customer requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Equipment Operation and Safety
    • Safely operate warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts, carts) as authorized and trained.
    • Follow all safety, security, and housekeeping standards within the warehouse environment.
    • Immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, or equipment issues.
  • Team Support and Guidance
    • Serve as a knowledgeable resource for less-experienced warehouse staff.
    • Provide informal coaching, guidance, and on-the-job support to junior team members.
    • Support cross-functional collaboration with shipping/receiving, production, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement and Special Projects
    • Participate in process improvement activities to enhance warehouse efficiency, accuracy, and safety.
    • Contribute to special projects and initiatives as assigned by leadership.
    • Support the implementation of new tools, systems, or procedures related to warehouse operations.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant warehouse, logistics, or material handling experience.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $22.95 - $31.05. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
