DSP - Day Services

Direct Support Professional

The Direct Support Professional is responsible for providing supportive services to individuals who are intellectually disabled that participate in the Group Day, Community Engagement, Community Coaching, Workplace Assistance Services or any type of Residential Support program. The type of supports and assistance will include, but are not limited to the following areas:  

• Group Day: DSP shall support and provide skill-building intervention with social activities, communication activities, problem solving activities, arts/craft activities, money management, community engagement/awareness, and health/safety practices.   
  

Other Services Offered

• Community Coaching: DSP shall support and provide skill-building interventions on a 1 individual to 1 staff basis with social activities, communication activities, problem solving activities and community engagement/awareness, and health/safety practices.  This service is designed to assist individuals who have barriers or difficulties adjusting to activities in the community and with others and need more 1:1 staff intervention.

Documentation Requirements 

Complete all required documentation such as support notes, data collection notes, MAR data, behavior observation data collection and other information deemed necessary to the Direct Support Professional. Attend and participate in staff meetings designed to coordinate and develop Individual Support Plans.
