Ā The Undergraduate Summer Analyst Program gives undergraduate juniors the opportunity to gain valuable work experience at a unique institution. Through dynamic, project-based work assignments and professional development activities, students get:Ā

HowĀ YouāllĀ Make an Impact as a Markets InternĀ ā CHIĀ (Junior)Ā
Through its analytical and operational areas, the Markets Group:Ā
Manages the size and composition of the Federal Reserve System's balance sheet consistent with the directives and the authorization of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC)Ā
Monitors and analyzes financial market developments for key stakeholders and policymakers within the Federal Reserve SystemĀ
Monitors and analyzes developments related to financial stabilityĀ
Supports debt issuance and debt management on behalf of the U.S. TreasuryĀ
Provides foreign exchange services to the U.S. TreasuryĀ
Provides account services to foreign central banks, international agencies, and U.S. government agencies.Ā
As a summer analyst in Markets, you could be part of the following staff units: Capital Markets and Institutions, Central Bank and International Account Services, Cross Market Monitoring and Analysis, Cross Portfolio Policy and Analysis, Discount Window and Collateral Valuation, International Markets, Money Markets, Mortgage Markets, or Treasury Markets.Ā Ā This list is notĀ exhaustive,Ā and opportunities are dependent on Business need.Ā
Summer Analyst Responsibilities (include):Ā
Prepare charts, tables,Ā graphsĀ and other supporting documentation to be used in the research and market analysis conducted by the GroupĀ
Support senior staff with economic and financial data analysisĀ
Help execute the Group's funds, securities,Ā tradingĀ and settlement activities, including the preparation and maintenance of preliminary internal reports, data entry of operations results, discrepancy follow-up and resolution, and testing the implementation of new productsĀ

The Unique Skill SetsĀ WeāreĀ Looking For:Ā
You should have a demonstrated interest in financial markets, economics, public policy or finance, and a strong academic record. You should also have:Ā
Quantitative analysis skills and familiarity working with spreadsheets, databases, and analytical tools (e.g.Ā Excel, SQL).Ā
Academic exposure and/or experience in international and domestic capital markets and instruments, and US monetary policy and economicsĀ
Ability to source, prepare, and visually represent data for written reports using common tools (e.g.Ā Excel, Tableau)Ā
Ability to perform preliminary research and help prepare dataĀ regardingĀ foreign and domestic markets issuesĀ
Programming experience (e.g.Ā Python, R) is a plusĀ

Salary Range:Ā Your regular wages for the 10 weeks will be paid on a semi-
monthly basis and will be calculated based on an annual salary ofĀ $63,400

Access to CSI and FOMC information is limited to U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, individuals who meet the definition of āprotected individualā under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3), and certain other nonimmigrants.
