JOB SUMMARY

Ensure the organized flow of products in and out of the building. Adhere strictly to product quality standards, inventory control, productivity, order accuracy, and sanitation standards while maintaining control of departmental expenses.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Hire, train, direct, and discipline warehouse personnel to achieve the most effective use of manpower and equipment.
  • Process weekly payroll.
  • Perform daily sanitation and safety inspections.
  • Ensure security, maintenance, and repair of warehouse equipment and physical building.
  • Perform cycle counting and reconciliations.
  • Process invoices and manage expenses.
  • Recommend improvements in material handling to promote efficiency and lower operating costs.
  • Manage productivity and order accuracy to achieve a high warehouse service level.
  • Maintain open communications with other departments, managers, and other company personnel.
  • Assure OSHA Compliance in warehouse operations.
  • Perform warehouse operation following the Buckhead/Newport Meat & Seafood compliance review.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
  • Review receiving to determine out of stocks. Inform procurement of potential outs, under/overstock problems and quality issues.
  • Organize paperwork for the outbound shift.
  • Review delivery adjustments and reconcile.
  • Conduct routine warehouse meetings and maintain an ongoing safety program.
  • Participate in the safety committee.


QUALIFICATIONS
Education

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 4-year degree strongly preferred.

Experience

  • 10 years of warehouse management experience in distribution/manufacturing

Professional Skills

  • You must possess good employee relations skills.


Physical Demands

  • Work is light with some walking for inspections regularly.
  • Approximately 10% of the time is spent on data entry.
  • Must be able to communicate, primarily by telephone, to vendors, shippers, employees, and other Company personnel.
  • Must be able to read text that is close and at a distance with or without correction.
  • Must be able to perform manual tasks, hear, walk, stand, sit, reach, lift, bend, speak and interact with others.


Work Environment

  • The office is situated in the warehouse.
  • Activities occur both inside (protection from weather conditions but not temperature changes) and outside.


Equipment Operated

  • Typical equipment you will operate include but is not limited to a calculator, copier, fax, PC, Microsoft Office applications, and CRT.
