A private principal is seeking a professional, detail-oriented Housekeeper to support the upkeep and day-to-day operations of two residences located in Chicago's Gold Coast and Lakeview neighborhoods. This is a long-term opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining beautiful homes, enjoys creating efficient systems, and is looking to grow within the role.
The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, trustworthy, and able to work independently while also collaborating effectively when needed. Flexibility is important, as occasional schedule adjustments or last-minute needs may arise. The principal values someone who is discreet, dependable, and committed to maintaining the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Primary Responsibilities
Housekeeping & Home Care
  • Perform thorough housekeeping throughout both residences, including kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, and common living spaces
  • Vacuum, mop, dust, and maintain overall cleanliness to a high standard
  • Complete laundry, fold and organize clothing and linens
  • Change bed linens, refresh towels, and ensure bedrooms are prepared prior to the principal's arrival
  • Prepare guest accommodations as needed before family or guests arrive
  • Water indoor plants and maintain the general appearance of both homes
  • Maintain household inventories of linens, cleaning supplies, and household essentials; proactively reorder as needed
  • Collect mail and deliveries and organize or distribute items appropriately
  • Create and improve household organization systems, routines, and checklists to keep both homes running efficiently
Household Operations & Errands
  • Grocery shop and stock pantry essentials and household supplies in anticipation of the principal's visits
  • Run personal and household-related errands as needed
  • Ensure household vehicles are clean, fueled, and ready prior to the principal's arrival; relocate vehicles when necessary
  • Serve as the on-site contact for deliveries and service appointments
  • Provide occasional support when family members or guests are staying at the properties
Property & Vendor Coordination
  • Act as the primary liaison with building management regarding maintenance, scheduling, and property access
  • Coordinate vendors, contractors, and service providers from scheduling through project completion
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact during household repairs, projects, and home improvement work, ensuring vendors have access and work is completed as expected.
  • Maintain organized records of household and property supplies while anticipating future needs
  • Assist the family's CFO/COO with property-related administrative tasks and follow-up as needed
Qualifications
  • Previous professional housekeeping experience in a private home required
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Trustworthy, discreet, and committed to maintaining strict confidentiality
  • Warm, professional demeanor with the ability to interact comfortably with high-profile principals, family members, guests, and vendors
  • Comfortable using Mac OS, Google Workspace, email, and other digital communication tools
  • Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, and household projects is preferred
  • Comfortable working around dogs (one residence has a friendly dog)
  • Valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and clean driving record required (parking is provided)
  • Flexible to occasionally adjust the schedule or assist with evening/weekend needs when advance notice is provided
