Controller – Gonzales Development Co. (GDCO)

We’re seeking a Controller to lead our accounting team and oversee the financial operations across a diverse and growing portfolio of businesses and properties.

What You’ll Do

• Lead, mentor, and develop a 4-person accounting team, fostering collaboration and professional growth
• Oversee financial reporting, cash flow management, and tax compliance for multiple entities, including construction, property management, restaurants, and other businesses
• Partner with the CFO on strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and growth initiatives
• Manage payroll, benefits, audits, and vendor/lease payments across all entities
• Ensure accuracy in financial reporting, job costing, and regulatory filings
• Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external auditors, and vendors

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred; MBA a plus)
• 7–10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 5 in senior roles (Controller, Director of Finance, or CFO)
• Experience overseeing multi-entity or multi-location operations
• Strong understanding of GAAP, IRS, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards
• Background in real estate, construction, hospitality, or family-owned businesses is a plus
• Proven leadership skills, high integrity, and the ability to build trust across a team and organization
