Job DetailsJob Location: Chico Hegan - Chico, CA 95928Salary Range: $32.00 - $34.00 HourlyValley Pacific Petroleum Services, Inc. is currently seeking a full-time Tank Wagon Driver to join our team at our Chico location. This position operates primarily during daytime hours. The Tank Wagon Driver safely transports and delivers petroleum products to customer locations. This role includes product loading/unloading, completing required documentation, and ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. QualificationsKey Responsibilities: Act in accordance with the company’s code of ethics and mission statement. Able and willing to respond to emergencies, urgent or unusual situations (spill/mix cleanups, fires, accidents, urgent customer demands, weekend, holiday, and overnight assignments). Remains calm in demanding situations. Personally well-groomed and uniformed. Knowledgeable, friendly, and courteous to customers and suppliers. Safely transport and deliver petroleum products (gasoline, diesel, etc.) to customer locations including gas stations, commercial fleets, and job sites. Load and unload product using hoses and pumps, ensuring compliance with DOT and company procedures. Perform accurate pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking tank integrity, seals, valves, and gauges Verify load documentation matches product type and quantity; follow proper procedures for splitting or delivering multiple grades of fuel. Handle and maintain bill of ladings, delivery tickets, and electronic logs as required by DOT regulations and company policy. Follow all applicable safety rules and procedures, including HAZMAT protocols and emergency response guidelines. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation laws, including DOT regulations for hours of service and load securement. Communicate with dispatch and customers in real-time to report delays, issues, or delivery concerns. Required Skills/Experience: Valid Class A or B CDL with tanker and HAZMAT endorsements (required) Clean MVR and driving record Minimum 1 year of experience operating fuel tankers or similar vehicles (preferred) Must pass a DOT physical, background check, drug and alcohol screening, and driving test Strong communication skills Working knowledge of fuel delivery equipment, including hoses, meters, valves, and safety shut-offs Physically able to climb ladders, lift hoses, and work outdoors in various weather conditions Compensation and Benefits: Potential to earn over $100,000/year with competitive pay.
