Position Overview:

This On-Call (Part-Time) Transportation Driver provides safe, reliable, and courteous non-emergency transportation to Medicaid-eligible individuals traveling to and from medical appointments in an agency vehicle. This position plays a vital role in improving access to services and delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

1. Responds promptly to transportation requests based on agency scheduling needs.

2. Safely transport clients while adhering to all federal, state, and local traffic laws.

3. Plan efficient travel routes while considering traffic, weather, road conditions, and client schedules.

4. Assist passengers with entering and exiting the vehicle as needed while maintaining dignity, respect, and confidentiality.

5. Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, including checking fuel levels, lights, tires, brakes, fluids, and overall vehicle condition.

6. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe vehicle at all times.

7. Communicate professionally with clients, agency staff, healthcare providers, and partner organizations.

8. Accurately complete trip logs, mileage records, inspection reports, and other required documentation.

9. Report vehicle maintenance needs, accidents, incidents, or safety concerns promptly.


Qualification Requirements:

路 High school diploma or equivalent.

路 Must have a Valid driver鈥檚 license with an acceptable driving record.

路 Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.

路 Strong customer service skills.

路 The employee is required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and lift up to 40 pounds.
