As a Senior Advanced Project Engineer here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will be instrumental in leading programs that integrate hardware, software, test, and manufacturing disciplines for advanced defense navigation products. You’ll own the technical plan, schedule, and cost performance across components and systems, and coordinate work spanning multiple teams and locations to deliver reliable, high‑precision solutions for defense and aerospace customers.  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead systems product development projects, owning technical leadership, schedule, budget, milestones, and risk management.
  • Direct multi‑discipline teams, often across locations, ensuring integrated plans and effective execution.
  • Plan and manage work packages, develop integrated schedules, and apply EVMS to control cost/schedule across components and system developments; prepare, review, and approve technical deliverables.
  • Coordinate design reviews (SRR, PDR, TRR, CDR, FCA/PCA, TIMs) and interface with internal leaders and external customers to drive decisions and maintain program momentum.
  • Engage customers and suppliers as part of IPTs to align requirements, manage changes, and resolve issues; use influence internally and externally to attain milestones.
  • Contribute to new business/pursuit activities, extending product lines and supporting capture with credible technical plans and estimates.

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in technical disciplines such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
  • 6+ years of experience in project or systems engineering, specifically in defense navigation or related aerospace/defense systems
  • Proven success leading multi‑discipline projects with system‑level scope
  • Proficiency in project scheduling, budgeting, and EVMS
  • Communication skills with experience engaging customers and suppliers and operating within Integrated Product Teams. 

WE VALUE 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications in electronics or manufacturing preferred.
  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineeing or related fields
  • Experience with GPS/INS and embedded navigation system architectures, sensor integration, and signal processing.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Familiarity with MBSE (Cameo/SysML), requirements management, modeling/simulation, and automated test methods.
  • DOD Security Clearance or ability to attain one
