Description

Lake Butler Hospital is a critical access hospital in North Florida providing 24-hour emergency services, inpatient hospitalization, swing bed program, rehabilitation services, outpatient laboratory, and outpatient radiology (X-ray, ultrasound, and CT Scan) services to Union County and the surrounding counties. We are devoted to providing all members of our community with premier-quality health care in a compassionate and inviting environment.


We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Radiologic Technologist to join our team on a PRN basis!


Job Summary:

To provide radiology services to patients having a physician’s order for a radiologic exam.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. To satisfactorily perform general diagnostic radiographic procedures, this includes mobile radiography and procedures performed in the operating room.
  2. To correctly operate all x-ray and CT equipment required.
  3. To provide radiation protection for all patients, co-workers, visitors, and self by utilizing lead shields, and appropriately using collimator devices. To always wear radiation detection devices when in the workplace.
  4. To report any equipment problems to the supervisor and assist with minor repairs on equipment, when possible.
  5. To always provide patient safety, which includes safe transportation of patients within the hospital for x-rays.
  6. Processing of x-rays on PACs. This includes adequate images for proper diagnosis, all pertinent patient information, and precise diagnosis or history.
  7. Properly process all paperwork for radiology patients.
  8. Attend hospital in-services and staff meetings.

Requirements

Education: Florida General Radiographer’s License. Have good standing with ARRT.

Experience:1-2 years of experience as Radiologic Technologist

Knowledge: General diagnostic radiography procedures, including mobile radiography.

OSHA Categories: Category II - Normal routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue, but exposure or potential for exposure may occur

Physical Requirements

Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
