Develop new machine learning techniques in response to NIMH researcher needs, in particular in natural language processing for structured prediction problems, the areas of expertise of the contractor. Research and evaluate software standards in the area of operating systems, graphics, genome informatics and file systems, and assess their relevance to putting. Author and coordinate the writing of research papers about novel techniques devised by the contractor. Investigate software architectures and methods development to identify where software reusability and portability could be improved. Develop new optimization-based approaches to modelling complex multimodal imaging data collected in clinical studies Collaborate with professional and academic societies, associations and organizations to identify new approaches to computer science and prepare recommendations for adoption. Provide consulting and support the activities of NIMH researchers employing machine learning techniques, either on a one-off basis or a continuing mentoring relationship Write research papers describing the results of development or support activities of the team, in collaboration with other team members and NIMH researchers Develop and deliver educational courses on machine learning techniques Mentors junior level scientists Develops advanced approaches to artificial intelligence and machine learning to support scientific research. Design, develop and deploy application programming interfaces (API) to optimize system interoperability and increase data reuse efficiency. Apply existing machine learning methods to extract structured knowledge from complex medical data (records, imaging, behavior), to help answer questions posed by researchers Develop new machine learning techniques in response to NIMH researcher needs, in particular in natural language processing for structured prediction problems, the areas of expertise of the contractor. 1 Apply existing machine learning methods to extract structured knowledge from complex medical data (records, imaging, behavior), to help answer questions posed by researchers. 2 Provide consulting and support the activities of NIMH researchers employing machine learning techniques, either on a one-off basis or a continuing mentoring relationship. 3 Author and coordinate the writing of research papers about novel techniques devised by the contractor. Develop and deliver educational courses on machine learning techniques (classification/ regression models, using tensors to extract structured knowledge from data). Collaborate with the Data Science Team to use the neuroimaging and phenotypic data collected by them and support quantification of those data. Develop new optimization-based approaches to modelling complex multimodal imaging data collected in clinical studies. Mentors junior level scientists. Work products and documents related to developing new machine learning techniques in response to NIMH researcher needs; providing direct support to NIMH researchers employing machine learning techniques (e.g., open source computer code, documentation). Work products related to writing research papers (e.g., research papers and presentations) Work products and documents related to conducting educational courses on machine learning tools and techniques (e.g., educational materials) Work products and documents related to mentoring junior level scientists.
