Position Summary

The Line Service/Aircraft Detailer is responsible for providing safe, efficient, and professional ground support and aircraft servicing. This position assists with aircraft arrival and departure services, aircraft towing and marshalling, fueling support, baggage handling, aircraft cleaning and detailing, and maintaining ground support equipment and hangar facilities. The position requires a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, dependability, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Marshal and park aircraft safely and efficiently.
  • Tow aircraft and perform wing-walking duties as needed.
  • Operate ground support equipment in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • Ensure aircraft are properly chocked, locked, and secured.
  • Assist with aircraft fueling operations.
  • Clean and detail the interior and exterior of aircraft.
  • Service aircraft lavatories and replenish portable water.
  • Assist pilots with pre-flight and post-flight services.
  • Load and unload baggage and other aircraft items.
  • Assist passengers and drivers in the ramp area as needed.
  • Purchase and restock aircraft supplies, including snacks and beverages.
  • Monitor aircraft inventory and remove expired or outdated items.
  • Clean and organize hangars and hangar floors.
  • Clean and maintain offices and restrooms.
  • Maintain and clean ground support equipment.
  • Coordinate and maintain scheduled maintenance of ground support equipment and hangar facilities.
  • Follow all company, airport, and aviation safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Must successfully pass required pre-employment drug and alcohol screening, as applicable.
  • GED or higher education preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as required.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and perform duties safely and efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing quality service.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry baggage weighing up to 75 pounds from ground level to waist and overhead heights while loading and unloading aircraft.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, and climb as required to perform job duties.
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to work safely around aircraft, ground support equipment, vehicle traffic, and other ramp-related hazards.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks associated with aircraft servicing, cleaning, and ground operations.

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed primarily outdoors on an aircraft ramp and in hangar facilities.
  • Position may be exposed to varying weather conditions, aircraft noise, fumes, cleaning products, and other ramp-related environmental conditions.
  • Position requires adherence to all applicable company, airport, and aviation safety procedures.
  • Work schedule may vary based on aircraft arrivals and departures and may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
