Care and Share exists to ensure that the one in nine Southern Coloradans at risk of hunger have access to healthy and nutritious food to thrive. We know that children without adequate access to food cannot develop successfully, families cannot plan for their future, and seniors find it more difficult to remain independent.

Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of this position is to build and maintain donor relationships to connect and engage them with Care and Share’s mission. Cultivates, solicits, and stewards individual, corporate, and community partners. Manages an assigned portfolio of mid-level donors and prospects. Collaborates with the development team to administer Care and Share events and campaigns, educating the community and seeking participation.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manages and stewards a portfolio of mid-size individual and corporate donors and prospects, including Care and Share’s “Harvest Society” ($1,000 annual) and “Feed Our Neighbors Circle” (recurring) donors. Works to strengthen relationships and understand their interest in our work. 
  • Maintains the stewardship plan for the Development team to ensure all donors and partners have continued engagement with Care and Share. Works closely with the Donor Services Coordinator to ensure prompt responses to incoming gifts. 
  • Maintains knowledge of Care and Share’s programs and services. Communicates organizational activities to donors and the mid gift level to inspire them to invest in our mission. 
  • Identifies opportunities to increase donor engagement and giving.
  • Connects with potential and existing partners to develop and deepen relationships.  Schedules visits, tours, social engagements, and meetings to enhance interest and seek alignment with Care and Share's mission. Collaborates with the Volunteer Engagement Manager to coordinate and lead corporate tours.
  • Collaborates with the Development team to secure sponsorships, matching partners and successful outcomes for all fundraising events and campaigns. Works closely with the Events and Project Manager on Conference with a Cause and wrap-around events and campaigns.
  • Seeks out collaborative community networking events.  Represents Care and Share and educates community members about its programs and services. 
  • Maintains accurate and timely donor and partner records within Raiser's Edge. Maintains “Moves Management” activities and contact reports.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient to intermediate with Raiser's Edge or a similar platform preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to ever-changing organizational circumstances and needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and trust quickly while maintaining integrity and ethics.
  • Must be comfortable asking for small to mid-size donations independently, and large donations with assistance.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and experience.
  • At least one year of experience managing a donor database required.
  • At least three years of experience with community engagement.
  • Fundraising experience is highly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer mixed with periods of time traveling and meeting with people.
  • Must be willing and able to work nights and weekends occasionally.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. 

Travel Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid state issued driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Access to a reliable personal vehicle for work-related travel is preferred.
  • Must maintain personal automobile insurance that meets company minimum coverage requirements, if a personal vehicle is used for work-related travel.
  • Extensive travel throughout Colorado Springs is required. Some travel throughout Southern Colorado is also required.

The starting wage range for this position is $23.00 to $25.00 per hour.
