The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining hospital facility infrastructure systems and equipment (i.e. HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, fire suppression system, and hospital equipment). As equipment is maintained, the appropriate logs, reports, and documentation is returned to the Facility Manager.  Tasks may include light maintenance, repairs and services, grounds maintenance, and other environmental services.

Perform Maintenance and Repairs

  • Evaluates reported issues, identifies cause, creates repair/replace plan and alternative options to gain approval for maintenance approach
  • Performs approved maintenance, completes testing of repair work, and returns equipment to production status.
  • Communicates status of repairs and completes appropriate documentation / work logs
  • Identifies / reports any safety issues that are observed by creating a work order  
  • Performs routine review of documentation and certificates for operations, maintenance, repairs and testing as assigned for areas including:
    1. Clinical Equipment
    2. Mechanical Equipment
    3. Alarm systems
    4. Utility systems
    5. Facilities and Plant Operation certifications
    6. Medicinal gas, air and oxygen certifications
    7. Fire Suppression system testing and certification; fire walls and smoke barriers
    8. Recalls and power outages
    9. Fuel monitor reports

Performs duties within scope and other duties as assigned
