The Center for Christian Virtue Advancement Officer is a frontline role dedicated to cultivating and expanding the organization's network of supporters. The primary responsibility is to build authentic, trust-based relationships with current and prospective ministry partners. By effectively educating these individuals on the organization's mission, impact, and policy initiatives, the Advancement Officer actively invites them into financial and strategic partnership.


Reports to: Senior Advancement Director   

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

Compensation: Full-time, Salaried/Exempt

Location: CCV Office in Columbus, Ohio. Regular In-State Travel Required

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee a caseload of current and prospective major ministry partners, including individuals, business executives, and church leaders.
  • Initiate frequent touchpoints through face-to-face meetings, phone calls, and personalized correspondence to build trust and long-term rapport.
  • Actively network and utilize wealth screening data (in coordination with the Senior Advancement Director and Advancement Manager) to identify, qualify, and engage new financial partners, including creation of grant proposals for foundations..
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the organization's programs and initiatives, breaking down complex projects into compelling narratives for ministry partners..
  • Provide updates to partners regarding current cultural battles, advocacy efforts, and organizational victories to demonstrate ROI to partners.
  • Direct the full sales cycle from initial contact to close. Confidently make direct, specific requests for major financial investments.
  • Utilize consultative sales techniques to address partner questions or concerns, guiding them toward alignment with the organization's Christian mission.
  • Document all partner interactions, meeting notes, and pipeline stages accurately and promptly within the Virtuous CRM.
  • Coordinate with Senior Advancement Director and Advancement Manager to evaluate portfolio performance and refine caseload strategies based on data-driven insights.


Job Qualifications & Requirements

Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of success in major gift fundraising, corporate sales, wealth management, or B2B business development.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and persuasive communication skills (both written and verbal), with the proven ability to build authentic, trust-based relationships with high-net-worth individuals, business executives, and faith leaders.
  • An entrepreneurial, highly motivated mindset with the capacity to operate independently, manage time effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment with high volume and tight deadlines.
  • Hands-on experience utilizing CRM software (such as Virtuous, Salesforce, or similar platforms) to actively manage a portfolio, track pipeline progress, and ensure data integrity.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel within Ohio to conduct face-to-face partner meetings, host briefings, and actively network in the field.

Character and Spiritual

  • Mature Christian, currently attending or pursuing attendance in a local church. 
  • Agreement with and adherence to CCV’s Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to CCV’s mission and position on Core Issues. 
  • Ability to work discreetly with confidential information. 
  • Trustworthy, responsible, tactful, diplomatic, and focused on building consensus rather than emphasizing differences. 
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism focused on client/constituent relationships.
