Job Location: 3500 Alum Creek Drive, Columbus, OHÂ 43207- This position is primarily in person, with hybrid work capabilities up to two days a week. Will require some work/visits to jobsites.
Wage Range: $25.00-28.50

General Overview: This person should consistently demonstrate Integrity, Gratitude, Excellence, and Leadership. Serves as a visible, trusted Human Resources partner focused on strengthening employee relationships, culture, engagement, retention, recognition, and the overall employee experience. This position works closely with employees and leaders across the organization, including at office and jobsite locations, to promote a workplace where employees feel valued, supported, connected, and aligned with the Company’s Mission, Vision, and Values. The role also supports union awareness, stay and exit interviews, DOT drug-testing responsibilities, and other Human Resources initiatives.

Responsibilities:
- Understand and respect that ownership establishes the Company’s direction and priorities. Provide sound Human Resources guidance and recommendations while supporting and effectively implementing ownership’s decisions.

- Serve as a trusted Human Resources partner by coaching leaders, supporting employee relations, strengthening workplace relationships, and promoting employee engagement, retention, and development.
- Create an exceptional employee experience throughout the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, recognition, engagement, stay interviews, employee wellbeing, and offboarding.
- Maintain a visible and accessible Human Resources presence by regularly connecting with employees in corporate offices and jobsites, building strong relationships, and providing timely guidance and support.
- Lead employee recognition and engagement initiatives, monitor employee feedback and satisfaction, identify trends, and recommend continuous improvements to enhance the employee experience.
- Support employee health, wellbeing, and available Company resources while delivering exceptional customer service, professionalism, confidentiality, and follow-through.
- Become certified as a DOT drug-test collector and support related testing requirements in accordance with Company policies and applicable regulations.
- Demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, dependability, attention to detail, and sound organizational skills while effectively managing multiple priorities and maintaining accurate records.
- Build collaborative relationships with employees, leaders, applicants, and external partners while consistently representing the Human Resources department and the Company in a positive, service-oriented manner.
- Employee feedback survey creation, execution and follow-up
- Participate in new hire orientations and breakfasts
- Attend employee engagement events and companywide events
- Partner with training department
- May assist with employee investigations
- Knows and adheres to all Company policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of Human Resources practices, employee relations, employee engagement, and employment processes.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Skilled at organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects, and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, customer-service, and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to read and comprehend policies, procedures, collective bargaining agreements, and other written materials.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to speak publicly and facilitate employee discussions, interviews, meetings, and recognition activities.
- Ability to maintain accurate records, documentation, and confidential information.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, leaders, union representatives, applicants, and external partners.
- Ability to collect, label, and manage biological samples according to established drug-testing procedures.
- Ability to provide coaching and constructive feedback to leaders and employees.
- Ability to lead and support employees and leaders through organizational change.
- Ability to identify trends, recommend improvements, and support innovative employee-engagement and culture initiatives.
- Ability to demonstrate consistency, reliability, adaptability, dependability, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to maintain a cheerful, positive, service-oriented, and professional attitude.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Two years of experience in Human Resources, Employee Engagement, Employee Relations, or a related field is required.
- Experience in construction or a related industry is preferred.
- Must be willing and able to travel to Company offices, jobsites, career fairs, and other off-site events as needed.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening. (George J. Igel & Co., Inc. is a SUPR Drug-Free Workplace and tests for marijuana)
- Must be willing to sign a confidentiality agreement upon hire
- Must maintain an MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) that meets the Company’s eligibility requirements
