LANDSCAPE TECHNICIAN

EMH&T is seeking a Landscape Technician to join our Restoration team based in Columbus, OH. The Technician works under the direction of the Restoration Team Crew Chief, working outdoors to help restore natural areas, including streams, wetlands, and conservation sites. If you have experience in landscaping, lawn care, tree planting, grounds maintenance, irrigation, or other outdoor work, we'd love to hear from you. We provide on-the-job training and the opportunity to build new skills while working with an experienced crew.

Responsibilities

• Plant trees, shrubs, grasses, and other native plants
• Assist with seeding and landscaping of restoration areas
• Control invasive plants using herbicide applications
• Install conservation and property signage
• Use hand tools and small power equipment safely and effectively
• Work with a crew to complete outdoor restoration projects
• Help keep equipment and tools clean and maintained
• Follow all company safety procedures and use required protective equipment (PPE)

Work Environment

• Most projects are located in Central Ohio
• Crew members typically travel together from the office to the job site and return the same day
• Occasional overnight travel may be required and will be communicated in advance
• Typical schedule is Monday through Friday
• Start times are generally around 7:00 a.m., but may vary based on weather and seasonal conditions

Physical Requirements

This position requires regular physical activity, including:

• Walking long distances on uneven ground, hills, stream banks, and natural terrain
• Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds while walking across uneven terrain
• Pulling landscaping materials and equipment up to 70 lbs
• Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and lifting
• Working outdoors in all weather conditions during all seasons

Qualifications

• No restoration experience required; training is provided 
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record 
• Reliable transportation to and from work 
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position 
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check, and be subject to quarterly random drug testing
