Job Overview

The Director, Foundation & Corporate Relations is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive foundation and corporate fundraising strategies that generate significant philanthropic support for AltaMed Foundation and AltaMed Health Services Corporation. This position manages a portfolio of institutional funders with fundraising responsibilities divided between AltaMed's art initiatives and the organization's broader healthcare, community, and strategic priorities. Provides support for institutional fundraising operations and collaborates with executive leadership, program staff, finance, and external stakeholders to develop competitive funding strategies and secure philanthropic investment. This is an external-facing fundraising position responsible for building and managing relationships with foundation executives, program officers, and other philanthropic leaders. The ideal candidate brings deep familiarity with the arts sector, including the ability to connect artistic practice to measurable community impact, and to resonate with sophisticated arts funders who prioritize both creative excellence and social outcomes.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in foundation, corporate and/or public fundraising for community-based organizations, healthcare, human services, and/or arts & culture institutions.

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience supervising and managing grant writers, development staff, and/or consultants.

  • Demonstrated experience securing major institutional gifts of $100,000 or more.

  • Able to craft persuasive narratives that move institutional funders to action, paired with the ability to rigorously track, analyze, and report on fundraising performance, campaign outcomes, and event impact.

  • Experience partnering with program teams to scope and prepare complex grant proposals, reports, budgets, and donor communications.

  • Experience managing fundraising portfolios and institutional donor pipelines.

  • Experience with Salesforce, Instrumentl, or similar CRM and grant research platforms preferred.

  • Bilingual English/Spanish desirable.

Compensation

$141,573.12 - $176,966.40 annually
