Duprey Hospitality is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Houseperson. In this role, you will play a crucial role in supporting our housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure our hotel maintains its impeccable standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. Job Summary

The Houseperson is responsible for performing a combination of tasks that maintain hotel premises in a clean and orderly manner, thereby contributing to a pleasant, positive guest experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide professional and courteous guest service at all times
  • Clean and maintain all public, storage, and administrative areas
  • Move and arrange furniture
  • Dust and polish metalwork and furniture
  • Vacuum floors
  • Clean bathrooms
  • Remove trash
  • Ability to work well with a diverse group of people

Additional Duties

  • Replenish linens and supplies when needed
  • Stock assigned the cleaning cart for the work shift
  • Deliver television sets, ironing boards, baby cribs, rollaway beds, or any other guest amenities
  • Assist the front desk agents in fulfilling any guest requests
  • Clean outside areas and remove debris
  • Follow standard procedures for the acceptance and security of guest lost and found items
  • Maintain room quality based on hotel and brand standards
  • Attend monthly department meetings
  • Complete projects as determined by management
  • Actively seek out other tasks when current work is complete
  • Assist other coworkers and departments when necessary
  • Participate in ongoing education and training
  • Clean swimming pool area (if applicable)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education or Experience- No prior experience or education is required.
  • Language Skills- Must have developed language skills to the point to be able to: read and comprehend simple instructions, safety rules, and memos.
  • Mathematical Skills- Requires mathematical development sufficient to be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Reasoning Ability- Must have developed reasoning skills to be able to: apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.

Physical Requirements

  • Non-slip shoes are recommended
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
  • Requires walking and standing to a significant degree, reaching, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, stooping, handling, and seeing
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying or transporting of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Inside, environmental conditions are protected from weather conditions. Potential exposure to paint, solvents, cleaning chemicals, and/or fumes
    • Temperature Changes: Variations in temperature, which are sufficiently high or low to cause marked bodily discomfort, including exterior cold, heat, humid, and wet conditions
