Main responsibilities:

Position Summary

The Store Director is responsible for leading all aspects of store operations, including sales performance, customer experience, financial results, talent development, operational execution, and regulatory compliance. This role provides strategic leadership to department managers and store associates, ensuring the store operates efficiently while delivering an exceptional shopping experience. The Store Director is accountable for achieving business objectives, developing future leaders, and fostering a culture of engagement, accountability, and safety.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership
  • Lead and oversee all store operations to achieve sales, profit, and operational goals.
  • Establish clear expectations and drive accountability across all departments.
  • Develop and execute strategies to improve customer satisfaction, productivity, and profitability.
  • Model company values and create a positive, customer-focused culture.
  • Serve as the primary leader and decision-maker for the store.
Talent Management & Development
  • Recruit, hire, develop, and retain high-performing leaders and associates.
  • Create development plans and succession strategies for key store positions.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching, feedback, and recognition.
  • Promote a culture of diversity, inclusion, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure management teams effectively train and develop their associates.
Customer Experience
  • Champion a customer-first mindset throughout the store.
  • Monitor and improve customer service standards.
  • Resolve escalated customer concerns and ensure effective service recovery.
  • Ensure store conditions, product availability, and merchandising standards exceed customer expectations.
Financial & Business Management
  • Own store sales, profitability, labor, and expense performance.
  • Analyze financial reports and operational metrics to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Develop action plans to improve sales growth and operational efficiency.
  • Manage labor budgets, inventory controls, and shrink reduction initiatives.
  • Drive execution of company sales and promotional programs.
Operational Excellence
  • Ensure all departments maintain high standards of execution, merchandising, cleanliness, and product quality.
  • Monitor inventory levels to maximize in-stock conditions and minimize out-of-stocks.
  • Oversee effective scheduling and workforce planning.
  • Ensure operational consistency across all store departments.
  • Lead initiatives that improve productivity and overall store performance.
Compliance, Safety & Asset Protection
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, food safety standards, labor laws, and governmental regulations.
  • Maintain a safe environment for associates and customers.
  • Lead store safety programs and accident prevention efforts.
  • Partner with Asset Protection to reduce shrink, theft, and operational losses.
  • Ensure timely completion of all required audits, documentation, and compliance activities.
Community & Business Partnerships
  • Represent the store within the local community.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and community organizations.
  • Support company-sponsored events and community engagement initiatives.
