The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising the production team and processes to ensure safety, quality, and productivity while supporting the Company’s policies, goals, and objectives.Â
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Supervises the production process in accordance with policies and procedures. Â Â
- Responsible for the effective use of materials and equipment.Â
- Continually improves quality, reduces cycle time and costs.Â
- Supervises and mentors’ production staff, providing direct technical support and leadership.Â
- Oversees and/or conducts training of new or existing employees.Â
- Develops and recommends improvements of facilities, equipment, or procedures to improve safety, quality, and efficiency. Â Â
- Reinforce a safe culture that promotes an injury-free workplace and assures a safe working environment in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.Â
- Effectively communicates with management keeping them informed of developments as they occur.Â
- Monitors the usage of utilities to ensure efficiency of operations.Â
- Responsible for performance management of all assigned employees. Â This may include: performance reviews, goal-setting, production goals, career development, succession planning and disciplinary action.Â
- Supervises technical staff on a day-to-day basis, implementing policies and procedures, evaluating and training staff.Â
- Responsible for “on call, first call” status at all times unless arrangements are made otherwise.Â
- Prepare, review, approve and distribute instructions for the production of intermediates or APIs according to written proceduresÂ
- Review all production batches and ensure these are completed and signedÂ
- Make sure all production deviations are reported and evaluated and that critical deviations are investigated, and conclusions are recordedÂ
- Make sure that production facilities are clean and when appropriate disinfectedÂ
- Responsible for following food safety regulations and company policies is essential to ensure the integrity of our food-grade production processes.

Requirements
- Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis.  Â
- Experience in the operation of an ethanol plant is desirable.Â
- Experience in working in an FDA regulated environment or food environment is desirable.Â
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others and motivate employees.Â
- Ability to work in a cooperative, team-based workplace Â
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 60 lbs., work at elevated heights and in confined spacesÂ
- Ability to read, write, and understand EnglishÂ
- Must have valid driver’s licenseÂ

- Ability to utilize enterprise-level and PC based technology and databasesÂ
- Problem identification and solving skills and experience.Â
- Corporate, community and natural resource stewardship focus is desired.Â
