Director of Finance
K2J Marketing Partners is a fast-growing marketing firm looking for an experienced Financial Controller to own the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of our financial operations while our company scales. This role sits at the center of our finance function — hands-on enough to run day-to-day accounting and close the books, and strategic enough to give leadership the financial visibility needed to manage rapid growth. The Controller will be the point person who keeps A/R, A/P, banking, payroll, tax, and reporting running smoothly as transaction volume, client count, and complexity increase.

Objectives and Responsibilities
 Day to Day Financial Oversight  
o   Accounts Receivable and Client Management- preparing customer invoices, receipt of payments, any customer inquiries
o   Accounts Payable- bills, payments, any vendor inquiries
o   Banking and Cash Operations- reconcile bank statements, credit cards statements and other documentation as needed.
o   Inventory Management
o   Payroll, Tax and Compliance
o   Month End Close and Reporting
 
 High Level Financial Oversight
o   Own the accuracy and timeliness of monthly financial statements, account reconciliations, and the overall close process; ensure financials are audit-ready.
o   Manage day-to-day cash flow and maintain a cash management program that keeps the company positioned to fund growth, including weekly cash flow visibility for leadership.
o   Design, implement, and maintain internal controls appropriate for a scaling organization, tightening processes as headcount and transaction volume grow.
o   Partner with the CFO/Executive team on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning, and translate strategy into accounting processes the team can execute.
o   Support the year-end financial statement audit and any lender, bank, or board reporting requirements.
o   Evaluate the company's financial systems and internal structure and recommend improvements (staffing, tools, workflows) needed to support continued growth. Systems and Process Improvements through AI and other tools
o   Hire, train, and manage accounting staff as the team builds out; set standards for accuracy, documentation, and turnaround time.

Qualifications

·         Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA a plus but not required.
·         5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff.
·         Hands-on experience owning full-cycle accounting: A/P, A/R, payroll, bank reconciliation, month-end close, multi state tax and licensing.
·         Solid understanding of multi-state sales tax compliance and business licensing requirements.
·         Experience working in a fast-growing or high-transaction-volume company strongly preferred.
·         Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
·         Proficient in Odoo (or comparable ERP/accounting system), QuickBooks, Avalara, and Microsoft Excel/Office.
·         Excellent organizational skills and comfort managing competing daily deadlines alongside longer-term financial projects.
·         Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work closely with clients, vendors, and the Executive team.
