Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Apprentice Plumber with a minimum of 3 years of commercial plumbing experience to join our mechanical construction team. This role will support the installation of plumbing systems on large-scale commercial projects including schools, hospitals, industrial facilities, and office buildings. The ideal candidate is eager to continue developing their trade skills while working under the direction of Foremen, Journeymen, and Superintendents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation of domestic water, sanitary waste, vent, storm, and natural gas piping systems.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and project specifications.

  • Measure, cut, thread, assemble, and install piping systems according to project requirements.

  • Install plumbing fixtures, equipment, and related components.

  • Assist with underground, rough-in, and finish plumbing work.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.

  • Follow all company safety policies and jobsite requirements.

  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, foremen, apprentices, and other trades.

  • Identify and report installation issues, material shortages, or safety concerns.

  • Continue developing plumbing knowledge through hands-on training and field experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of commercial plumbing experience required.

  • Current Plumbing Apprentice License (if required by state regulations).

  • Experience with commercial plumbing installation, including above-ground and underground systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.

  • Working knowledge of plumbing tools, equipment, and materials.

  • Strong understanding of jobsite safety practices and OSHA standards.

  • Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.

  • Reliable transportation to various job sites.

  • Ability to lift heavy materials, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and perform physical job duties in varying weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cast iron, PVC, CPVC, copper, and ductile iron piping systems.

  • OSHA 10 certification.

  • Experience on large commercial construction projects.
