Position Overview:  

In collaboration with the VPMISL and AVP, the Dean of Students provides strategic leadership for the developmental and operational aspects of student life, emphasizing student well-being, community standards, and holistic development. This position will supervise several departments to ensure that programming, resources, and services facilitate student development and student success. As a member of Mission Integration and Student Life, the Dean of Students will support underrepresented student populations. 

Education:

  • Master's degree in College Student Personnel, Educational Leadership, Counseling, or related field required. 

Experience:

  • Seven to ten years of experience in increasingly responsible and professional roles related to student affairs 
  • Experience with judicial affairs and disciplinary protocols
  • Demonstrated crisis management skills 
  • Knowledge and experience with student support in areas that report to the position such as Campus Life, Counseling Center and/or Health and Wellness preferred.  
  • Prior supervisory experience

Work-Related Knowledge

  • Ability to manage multiple projects, manage crisis situations and utilize creative and timely problem-solving skills with flexibility for efficient resolution.
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of established professional codes of ethics and best practices for Student Affairs professionals.
