About the Role


National Food & Beverage is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to support daily food safety and quality activities throughout our fast-paced food manufacturing facility. This position monitors production processes, verifies compliance with established quality and food safety requirements, completes required inspections and documentation, and works closely with the Quality Assurance and Production teams to support consistent, safe, and specification-compliant products.


Candidates should have prior food manufacturing experience, a working knowledge of SQF, HACCP/HARPC, regulatory compliance, and GFSI auditing standards. Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred but not required.Ā Candidates must be able to communicate effectively in English.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Support daily Food Safety and Quality operations throughout the facility.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of Food Safety and Quality procedures in partnership with Quality Assurance and Production Management.
  • Monitor employee compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety procedures, Company policies, and applicable workplace rules; promptly communicate concerns to the appropriate supervisor or manager.
  • Support training of employees on critical control points (CCPs), food safety requirements, GMPs, and other assigned quality procedures.
  • Perform pre-operational inspections following sanitation and prior to the start of production; document findings and communicate deficiencies requiring corrective action.
  • Verify and document sanitizer concentrations in accordance with established procedures and specifications.
  • Verify calibration activities and required calibration records for applicable monitoring and measuring devices.
  • Monitor and document temperatures of processing rooms, coolers, freezers, products, and other designated areas or processes as required.
  • Monitor, inspect, and record product attributes during production and compare results against approved product specifications and quality standards.
  • Pull and properly identify samples for laboratory testing, retains, customers, and other required purposes.
  • Identify nonconforming or out-of-specification product, place affected product on hold as authorized, and accurately maintain hold documentation and logs.
  • Inspect and document incoming ingredients, materials, or products received at the facility in accordance with established receiving and quality procedures.
  • Maintain awareness of declared food allergens and follow allergen-control procedures applicable to assigned responsibilities.
  • Complete, review, organize, and maintain SQF, HACCP/HARPC, GMP, quality, food safety, and production-related records accurately and timely.
  • Prepare required Quality Assurance paperwork for daily operations and file completed records at the end of the day or as required.
  • Comply with Quality Assurance programs and communicate observed noncompliance, food safety concerns, quality deviations, or documentation discrepancies promptly.
  • Learn and effectively use the accounting, manufacturing, and quality-related systems required by National Food & Beverage, including Label View and BarTender labeling programs, as applicable.
  • Support assigned Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), quality data, and operational records used to monitor product standards, productivity, cost, and continuous improvement.
  • Support Company safety initiatives and follow all required safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Maintain professional and effective communication with Quality Assurance, Production, Sanitation, Warehouse, R&D, Maintenance, and other departments as needed.
  • Perform other duties and additional responsibilities as assigned based on departmental and business needs.


Required Qualifications


  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Minimum six (6) months of Quality Control, Quality Assurance, food and beverage manufacturing, or closely related experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SQF, FDA requirements, HACCP/HARPC, GMPs, food safety, and quality systems preferred.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently to understand procedures, specifications, labels, safety information, and required documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately complete inspections, measurements, records, and documentation.
  • Self-motivated and inquisitive with the ability to identify concerns, ask appropriate questions, and communicate issues promptly.
  • Ability to learn and use Company manufacturing, accounting, labeling, and quality-related systems with a high level of proficiency.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • No supervisory experience required.


Physical Requirements

Ā 

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and work around production and facility equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work around moving machinery, elevated noise levels, temperature variations, and wet or slippery conditions.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE.
