Position Summary

The Regional Project Scheduler develops, maintains, analyzes, and reports schedules across multiple construction projects within an assigned region. The position partners with project management, operations, estimating, engineering, project controls, and regional leadership to ensure schedules accurately reflect project scope, sequencing, resources, milestones, contractual requirements, and execution strategy.

This role provides scheduling leadership and technical expertise, identifies schedule risks and opportunities, evaluates project performance, supports recovery and mitigation planning, and promotes consistent scheduling standards and best practices throughout the region.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Project Scheduling and Analysis

  • Develop and maintain baseline, master, progress, short-term, and long-term schedules for multiple projects using Primavera P6 or other approved scheduling software.
  • Establish and review work breakdown structures (WBS), activities, durations, relationships, calendars, milestones, critical paths, and construction sequencing.
  • Ensure schedules incorporate contractual requirements, design, procurement, permitting, construction, testing, commissioning, and closeout activities.
  • Perform schedule updates; monitor actual progress against baseline and current schedules; and analyze critical and near-critical paths, float, trends, and milestone performance.
  • Identify delays, constraints, and risks; evaluate impacts from scope or design changes, unforeseen conditions, procurement issues, weather, and other project events.
  • Develop and evaluate recovery, acceleration, mitigation, and what-if scenarios to support project execution and contractual milestones.

Regional Project Support

  • Provide scheduling support and oversight to projects throughout the region, including project startups and projects experiencing delays, schedule challenges, or increased operational risk.
  • Partner with Project Managers, Project Executives, Superintendents, Engineers, and field personnel to ensure schedules accurately represent planned construction activities.
  • Conduct periodic schedule reviews with project teams and regional leadership and promote accountability for schedule performance.
  • Assist with regional resource planning when projects have competing labor, equipment, or operational requirements.

Reporting, Claims, and Change Management

  • Prepare schedule reports, dashboards, milestone reports, executive summaries, and narratives that communicate progress, variances, critical activities, upcoming milestones, delays, risks, and corrective actions.
  • Support monthly project and regional operating reviews and coordinate schedule information with cost, productivity, and forecasting data.
  • Maintain schedule documentation supporting change orders, delay analyses, claims, time-impact analyses, and requests for contract time extensions.
  • Review subcontractor schedules and schedule-related change requests and support project and legal teams with schedule documentation associated with disputes or claims.

Preconstruction, Training, and Continuous Improvement

  • Support estimating and preconstruction teams with proposal and bid schedules, preliminary construction sequences, milestone schedules, constructability reviews, execution plans, and project handoff to operations.
  • Provide scheduling guidance, coaching, and training to project personnel.
  • Develop and maintain regional scheduling policies, templates, standards, and best practices; identify opportunities to improve scheduling processes, reporting, technology, and project controls.
  • Remain current on scheduling software, construction methods, industry practices, and project controls technologies.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • 7-10 years of construction, project controls, or scheduling experience, including development and maintenance of complex construction schedules.
  • Experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously preferred.
  • Heavy civil, infrastructure, transportation, highway, bridge, rail, utility, or other large-scale construction experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with project management and field operations teams required.

Technical Skills
