Location: Kitchen Distribution Center 

FLSA Status: Non-exempt, Full-time, hourly 

 

Job Summary 

The Baker is responsible for preparing high-quality pies and bakery products in a production bakery environment that supports multiple locations. This role focuses on consistency, efficiency, food safety, and teamwork while producing large volumes of products to meet daily business needs. 

As part of the bakery team, Bakers help ensure all locations receive fresh, properly prepared products on schedule. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to follow recipes and procedures, and a strong work ethic in a fast-paced environment. Seasonal and holiday periods are especially high-volume and require flexibility, teamwork, and a commitment to meeting increased production demands. 



Daily Responsibilities and Tasks 

  • Prepare pies and bakery items according to established recipes, quality standards, and production schedules. 
  • Measure, mix, assemble, bake, and package products consistently and accurately. 
  • Follow daily production lists to ensure inventory needs are met for all locations. 
  • Maintain high standards for product appearance, taste, portioning, and consistency. 
  • Safely operate bakery equipment and tools. 
  • Monitor product quality throughout the baking process and communicate any concerns. 
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness procedures. 
  • Assist with inventory organization, stocking, and preparation for future production. 
  • Support additional bakery needs and projects as assigned. 



Job Qualifications 

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing consistent, quality products. 
  • Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and production processes accurately. 
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work in a team environment. 
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume production setting. 
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to assist team members. 
  • Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks during busy production periods. 
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn. 



Required Education, Certification, or Experience 

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. 
  • Previous bakery, kitchen, food production, or restaurant experience preferred. 
  • Food Handler Certification required or ability to obtain within 30 days 
  • Experience working in a high-volume production environment is a plus. 



Physical Requirements and Schedule  

  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift. 
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. 
  • Ability to bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive movements. 
  • Comfortable working around ovens, mixers, refrigeration areas, and bakery equipment. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment for extended periods. 
  • Regular Schedule: Monday– Sunday, 6:00am – 2:00pm. 
  • Schedule may vary based on production needs, business volume, and seasonal demands. 
  • Holidays are a critical production period, and availability during peak holiday seasons is required. 
  • Additional hours or schedule adjustments may be needed during high-volume periods. 



Compensation and Benefits 

  • $13 - $18 per hour, based on experience 
  • Accrued PTO up to 80 hours per year 
  • $300 contribution toward company medical insurance premiums
