Our knowledge, scale and vision is transforming the synthetic sports surface industry.     Job Purpose   Sport Group Americas seeks a skilled, highly motivated and proactive legal counsel with a passion for sports. This position will partner closely with internal business counterparts to negotiate and deliver partnerships across our various brands including AstroTurf and SYNLawn (turf), Laykold (courts), and Rekortan (tracks). This role will work closely with a wide range of cross-functional teams to provide strategic and tactical legal counseling, ensuring compliance with regulations and corporate policies.     Duties and Responsibilities   Under the direct supervision of the VP Finance, the key responsibilities will include: Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts and other legal documents relevant to the company’s operations e.g., for development, manufacturing, distribution, works performance and contractual sale of goods. Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations, and industry-specific compliance requirements. Assist with corporate governance activities including preparation of board resolutions, policies, procedures and internal governance documents, and training. Advise management on adherence to applicable laws and best practices. Collaborate with our international legal team to support innovative projects. Handling employee relations and labor law issues. Managing litigation and coordinating external legal counsel as needed. Provide proactive legal guidance to business leaders, identifying potential legal risks and ensuring compliance with relevant laws. Conducting legal research and staying updated on changes in laws that may affect the company. Developing, maintaining, and updating templates. Qualifications  Qualifications   Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school Admission to the state bar and in good standing. License to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction. Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a licensed attorney in a law firm or corporate legal department Experience in drafting and negotiating contracts for development, manufacture, distribution and works performance a specific industry relevant to the company’s operations. Strong background in corporate law, contract law, and compliance. Proficiency in managing complex legal projects and transactions. Skills Attention to detail and a meticulous approach to work. Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Exceptional knowledge of corporate, contract, and regulatory law. Strong legal drafting and documentation skills.
