Position Description
The HR Coordinator supports the Human Resources department in managing day-to-day HR functions, including serving as a front-line point of contact for employees, coordinating recruitment and onboarding, and maintaining compliance records. This role facilitates communication across departments and helps keep our HR processes accurate, timely, and audit-ready.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions on HR-related matters, including benefits, payroll, time off, and general policy questions, resolving what you can and routing what you can't to the Director of Human Resources with the right context already gathered
- Post and maintain job openings in our ATS (iSolved), screen incoming applications against role criteria, and schedule interviews with hiring managers
- Manage candidate communications and onboarding for new hires, from application through their first day, including paperwork, systems access requests, and orientation materials
- Maintain accurate, audit-ready employee records and files, including I-9 documentation, onboarding paperwork, and periodic compliance audits
- Track time-sensitive HR documentation and deadlines, including leave of absence (LOA) requests, required renewals, and compliance filings, flagging anything approaching a due date
- Support training completion tracking and assist with learning management system (LMS) administration
- Act as a department point of contact for internal and external HR-related inquiries
What You Bring
- Proven work experience as an HR Administrator, HR Administrative Assistant, or relevant role
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Robust computer competencies (MS Office, SharePoint, data management)
- Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects
- Outstanding phone, email, and in-person communication skills
- Sound judgment about what to handle directly versus when to escalate
What Will Set You Apart
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, psychology, business administration or a relevant field
- Working knowledge of labor laws (I-9, FMLA/CT FMLA, wage and hour basics)
- Experience with HR software (HRIS, HRMS, ATS, etc.), iSolved a plus
- Bilingual: English-Spanish or English-Vietnamese
How You'll Grow
This is a hands-on role with real ownership from day one, and direct mentorship from our Director of Human Resources. As you build judgment across recruiting, employee relations, and compliance, there is genuine room to grow into a Generalist role.
