MONDAY - FRIDAY HOURS ARE: 3:45PM - 7:00PM SATURDAY/SUNDAY HOURS ARE: 6:00AM - 2:30PM, 10:45AM - 2:30PM OR 3:45PM - 7:00PM Job Overview: The Server position is responsible for accurately and efficiently serving meals to the residents, guests, and staff of Ridgecrest Village.  Servers are responsible for cleaning tasks as assigned and keeping the kitchen/dining areas clean and sanitary. General Responsibilities: Serves meals in various dining rooms and carries trays. Receives and prepares meal orders. Delivers and pours beverages. Replenishes buffet line with appropriate food from kitchen. Assists in preparing meal trays. Tallies diet cards to ensure the appropriate dietary meals are assembled for health center patients. Places cold items on meal trays and at tables. Prepares simple foods, for example as required, i.e coffee, utilizing air fryer, griddle, crockpot, toaster, blender and use of knives for cutting food. Clears and resets dining tables after use. Assembles all supplies needed to set tables, silverware and condiments. Assists in routine dietary cleaning tasks and special cleaning at supervisor’s request. Cleans refrigerators, walk-in coolers, and storage areas and disposes of any unusable supplies. Cleans salad bar area. Cleans all work areas used during shift. Completes weekly cleaning as assigned. Assists dishwasher in washing dishes and/or pots and pans. Delivers special dietary trays to health center or retirement apartment at supervisor’s request. Carries supplies from storage areas to kitchen work area at cook’s or supervisor’s request. Attends and participates in required in-service meetings. Performs other duties as directed by Food Service Manager and Supervisor. Demonstrates competency in skills mandated by required education and training. Performs other related duties as assigned. QualificationsJob Qualifications: Must meet the minimum age requirement to perform various service work per the current labor law guidelines. Able to read, write and speak English.   General Qualifications: Maintains a positive attitude. Ability to work a flexible schedule helpful. Must comply with any dress code requirements. Attends work and shows up for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity. Communicates politely with residents, guests and staff.   Physical Requirements: Required frequent standing, walking, bending, and squatting to perform the essential job functions.  Able to push or pull over 100 lbs including carts of food dishes and wheelchairs of residents for short distances. Able to lift over 25 lbs such as pans of food and trays of beverages. Able to use hands and arms for simple grasping, pushing, pulling such as carrying trays, clearing and setting tables, sweeping, etc. Able to perform moderately difficult manipulation tasks such as writing tallies and name tags. Able to pour beverages and carry trays requiring steadiness of motion. Able to continuously see objects closely to read menus and diet cards. Able to see distance of 35 feet to observe residents needing assistance. Able to continuously hear normal sounds and voice patterns with some background noise. Able to detect the smell of spoiled food.   Working Conditions (may add additional conditions specific to defined work location): Exposure to sudden fluctuations in temperature. Exposure to dust, bodily injury, loud or unpleasant noise and odors.   Equipment Utilized: Carts, knives, beverage machines, toasters, juice machine, dishwasher, ovens, steamers, fryers, refrigerators, freezers, microwave, blenders, garbage disposals.   Safety Requirements: All employees are expected to respond to emergency situations involving the safety of residents, other employees, and the facility. This includes the ability to assist with a possible evacuation of residents.
