We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Underwriting Consultant who thrives in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment. This fully remote role is ideal for a self-motivated underwriting professional who enjoys analyzing complex risks, partnering with internal and external stakeholders, and sharing expertise with colleagues. While remote, the position requires active daily engagement with team members and business partners to support collaboration, consistency, and business results. The position also serves as a technical resource for other underwriters, helping to develop talent, improve processes, and support departmental initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
ā€¢ā€ƒā€ƒReview and evaluate new and existing business within assigned authority levels.
ā€¢ā€ƒā€ƒMake sound underwriting decisions that support profitable growth and customer retention.
ā€¢ā€ƒā€ƒPartner with sales/service teams on products & plan designs that best meet customer needs.
ā€¢ā€ƒā€ƒAnalyze complex risks and ensure underwriting guidelines and profitability targets are met.
ā€¢ā€ƒā€ƒMonitor and identify risk trends and recommend solutions when concerns arise.
ā€¢ā€ƒā€ƒBuild and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners.
ā€¢ā€ƒā€ƒProvide accurate, timely, and dependable service.
ā€¢ā€ƒā€ƒServe as a resource and mentor to less experienced underwriters.
ā€¢ā€ƒā€ƒShare technical expertise and provide coaching on underwriting decisions.
ā€¢ā€ƒā€ƒParticipate in process improvement efforts and recommend workflow efficiencies.
ā€¢ā€ƒā€ƒSupport the development of underwriting guidelines, policies, and procedures.
ā€¢ā€ƒā€ƒMaintain a strong understanding of company products, market conditions, and industry trends.
ā€¢ā€ƒā€ƒUnderstand the financial impact of underwriting decisions on business performance.

Qualifications, Education and Experience
ā€¢ā€ƒā€ƒBachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
ā€¢ā€ƒā€ƒSeven or more years of underwriting or related insurance experience.
ā€¢ā€ƒā€ƒProven experience handling complex underwriting decisions.
ā€¢ā€ƒā€ƒStrong knowledge of underwriting principles, risk, pricing, plan design, and policy provisions.
ā€¢ā€ƒā€ƒUnderstanding of financial and business performance goals.
ā€¢ā€ƒā€ƒKnowledge of sales and distribution channels and market trends.
ā€¢ā€ƒā€ƒStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.
ā€¢ā€ƒā€ƒAbility to identify trends and develop practical solutions.
ā€¢ā€ƒā€ƒEffective coaching and mentoring skills.
ā€¢ā€ƒā€ƒExcellent verbal and written communication skills.
ā€¢ā€ƒā€ƒStrong collaboration and relationship-building abilities.


Salary Range: $140,000-$160,000 annually, plus bonus potential. Final compensation will be based on location, experience, skills, qualifications, and relevant industry expertise.
