Atlanta Gear Works is located in Dawsonville, GA. We are looking for an experienced Industrial Gearbox Mechanic to join our skilled team. Ideal candidate must have at least 3 years of prior industrial gearbox assembly experience. Must have availability to travel occasionally. If you meet all requirements, please apply! We are a contract precision maintenance jobshop that services and repairs both large and small process critical gearboxes for a variety of industries.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assemble various types of gearboxes of all sizes and weights.
Mount bearings.
Mount gears on shafts.
Read and interpret assembly drawings.
Make calculations to properly set bearings and gear contact patterns.
Test and ensure accuracy of parts.
Travel to various customer sites for inspections, repairs and installs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED is required. Technical school is a plus.
Minimum of three years experience in this role.
Must have experience with correctly using high precision measuring instruments (such as verniers, indicators, calipers, micrometers OD & ID, depth gauge, etc.) in lengths of a thousandth.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Ability to lift up to 50lbs regularly. Stamina to work 40+ hours each week.

REQUIREMENTS:

Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
Must undergo pre-employment background check.
