Special Education Teacher - SPEd - School Setting

Elementary Resource Room Teacher

• Provide individual and small-group specialized instruction in a resource room setting.
  
• Support elementary students in academic areas such as reading, writing, and mathematics.
  
• Implement specially designed instruction based on each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
  
• Develop, implement, and monitor measurable IEP goals.
  
• Provide accommodations and modifications to help students access the general education curriculum.
  
• Monitor student progress, collect data, and adjust instruction based on student performance.
  
• Serve as case manager for assigned students and maintain required special education documentation.
  
• Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and related service providers.
  

Elementary Cross-Categorical Teacher

• Provide specialized instruction to elementary students with a variety of disabilities and educational needs.
  
• Differentiate instruction based on students' academic, behavioral, functional, and social-emotional needs.
  
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized IEP goals and services.
  
• Provide appropriate accommodations, modifications, behavioral supports, and instructional interventions.
  
• Support students in special education and inclusive general education environments.
  
• Collect and analyze student progress data and adjust interventions as needed.
  
• Serve as case manager for assigned students and maintain accurate IEP documentation.
  
• Collaborate with teachers, paraeducators, families, and multidisciplinary service providers.
  

Early Childhood Program (ECP) Teacher

• Provide developmentally appropriate special education instruction to young children with disabilities or developmental delays.
  
• Support development in communication, social-emotional, cognitive, adaptive, motor, and early learning skills.
  
• Use structured learning, play-based activities, classroom routines, and hands-on instruction to address individual student goals.
  
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals based on each child's developmental needs.
  
• Adapt classroom activities, materials, and routines to promote student participation and independence.
  
• Monitor developmental progress through observations, assessments, and data collection.
  
• Collaborate with Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, paraeducators, families, and other specialists.
  
• Maintain a safe, structured, supportive, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field appropriate to the assignment.
  
• Valid or eligible state teaching license or certification appropriate for the assigned Special Education position.
  
• Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
  
• Ability to provide differentiated instruction based on individual student needs.
  
• Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.
  
• Previous Special Education classroom experience preferred.
