Universal Logistics is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Yard Switcher to join our team in Madison Heights, MI. This position is responsible for moving trailers safely and efficiently throughout the yard while supporting daily operations.

Position Details

• 1st Shift
• Monday–Friday (occasional Saturdays depending on customer needs)
• 5:30 AM – 4:30 PM
• Starting Pay: $26.00/hour
• Consistent weekday schedule

Responsibilities

• Move and position trailers within the yard
• Coordinate trailer movements to meet operational needs
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections as required
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse personnel, and management
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment

Requirements

• Class A CDL required
• 6 months of tractor-trailer experience
• Current DOT Medical Card (minimum 1-year validity)
• Clean driving record
• No DUI/OWI in the last 5 years
• No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years
• No more than 3 preventable accidents in the last 3 years
• Must pass DOT drug screen
