We are currently seeking an experienced, highly motivated, reliable, and personable Payroll & HR Coordinator to join our team in Midlothian, VA. We offer competitive pay and an attractive benefit package. As the Payroll & HR Coordinator, you will do:

Payroll & Timekeeping
  • Support the accurate and timely preparation of bi-weekly payroll, including timekeeping review, employee changes, commissions, bonuses, deductions, reimbursements, and other payroll adjustments.
  • Review payroll information and reports, complete assigned reconciliations and post-payroll activities, and research discrepancies or unusual transactions.
  • Assist employees and Managers with payroll and timekeeping questions while maintaining accurate and confidential payroll records.
HR Operations & Employee Support
  • Maintain accurate employee records across HRIS, payroll, benefits, and timekeeping systems and process approved employee changes.
  • Support onboarding, offboarding, employment verifications, HR reporting, recordkeeping, and other day-to-day HR administrative processes.
  • Serve as a resource to employees and Managers by providing responsive support with HR systems, employee information updates, and routine HR-related questions.
Benefits, Leave & Workers’ Compensation
  • Coordinate employee benefit enrollments, changes, terminations, monthly reconciliations, and Open Enrollment activities.
  • Administer the documentation, tracking, system updates, and employee communications associated with leaves of absence.
  • Coordinate the administrative processing and tracking of workers’ compensation claims, including required documentation, reporting, and follow-up.
HRIS, Data Integrity & Continuous Improvement
  • Help ensure employee information remains accurate and consistent across HR, payroll, benefits, and timekeeping systems through regular review, auditing, and discrepancy resolution.
  • Identify missing information, recurring errors, or process concerns and coordinate corrections or escalate matters requiring additional review.
  • Support HRIS updates and projects and contribute to improvements that increase the accuracy, efficiency, and consistency of Payroll and HR processes.
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of payroll and/or Human Resources experience, preferably supporting an organization with 50+ employees.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and follow-through skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive employee information appropriately.
  • Comfortable learning and working within multiple technology platforms and systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel; QuickBooks experience is preferred.
  • Ability to research discrepancies, solve routine problems independently, and recognize when an issue should be escalated.
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check, subject to applicable law.
